child custody- use it or lose it

Child custody - use it or lose it.  Texas has a Standard Possession Order for children three years of age or older. That Standard Possession Order (or SPO) grants frequent and regular possession of minor children to the parent who is not the primary custodian.

Although judges may grant a standard possession order, they cannot make a parent exercise his or her granted possession. However if a parent habitually fails to exercise his/her possession under the terms of a standard possession order, a court may modify the standard possession order based on judicial discretion as to the best interest of the child.  Such a modification could possibly lessen the monthly periods of visitation, shorten summer visitation, or effect holidays.

If you have court ordered visitation, use it. Your child deserves it and so do you.

Hear From Our Clients

"Grimm Collections utilized Mr. W. Tyler Moore for a very complicated matter of litigation regarding non-payment of freight invoices to one of our clients local to the Houston area. I’ve worked with many attorneys throughout the United States on many litigation matters and the biggest deficiencies are lack of industry knowledge and poor communication/follow up.." - D.M.
